Want to try a triathlon? Join us for the 2019 All Ability Tri4Youth, a fully accessible triathlon open to youth of all abilities ages 8 to 26.
This event is for everyone- with and without disability! Do you experience disability and want to try out a new sport or explore adaptive equipment? Great, sign up! Do you want to take part in an amazing opportunity and learn more about disability and inclusive recreation? Great, sign up! Are you a first time triathlete? Great, sign up! Are you a seasoned pro? Sign up! Are you a family looking for a fun event to complete together? You got it…Sign up!
Athletes will swim 50 yards, bike 2 miles, and run .5 miles on a fully accessible course, some using adaptive equipment and competing on their own or on a team. This is an event for youth of ALL abilities.
The All Ability Tri4Youth is a fun, safe, accessible event with an emphasis on inclusion and community building. From a triathlon course that has been successfully tested by youth to fully accessible facilities, great music, food, and lots to celebrate, participants will create lifelong memories on this special day.

Simple UDL Strategies for Vocabulary, Literacy, Writing, & Communication
This FREE webinar series is put on by the Oregon Technology Access Program (OTAP). The purpose of the series is to expand teacher and parent knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies that may be integrated across all grade levels and across all content areas. The goal is to guide attendees to understand the relevance of the strategy and to demystify the concepts of Universal Design for Learning.

This is a collaborative workshop featuring detailed presentations on Assistive Technology including potential funding resources. The workshop has been designed to offer the opportunity for community partners to meet and explore collaborative approaches to accessing assistive technology for those you serve.
Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) and Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) have been working closely with the Oregon Public Utility Commission and Access Technologies, INC. to coordinate this special event made possible by a grant from the Administration for Community Living (ACL).
The workshop is intended for ADRC Options Counselors, OPI, AAA, Tribes, APD, ODDS, and CIL Case Managers, Diversion/Transition Coordinators and other key staff and leadership who help older adults and people with disabilities experiencing long-term services and supports needs.

The WRR features a 5k run and a casual 2 mile walk/roll. The walk route creates a full circle using both the Steel and Hawthorne bridges.
Check-in begins at 9am, and the race component starts at 10:30 am. Stay after for the festival featuring games, food, and so much more!
As always, proceeds will benefit UCP Oregon.
Let’s celebrate Down syndrome and the strength of our community while supporting the dreams and possibilities of people experiencing Down syndrome! Registration includes a 2019 Buddy Fest NW t-shirt, an accessible walk, food & drink, and all the fun we can pack into a festival! Online registration is available until noon on Sept. 19th. The Closing The Gap Conference is an opportunity to deepen your assistive technology (AT) knowledge and strengthen your implementation strategies. The conference week is designed to dig deeper into critical areas that have the power—when implemented strategically—to transform your classroom, your school, your district, your practice.
When you start thinking differently about how to reach ALL students, how to infuse technology into learning, how to leverage AT strategies in all areas – then we begin to transform these areas and ultimately increase achievement and independence.

The purpose of the series is to increase the capacity of educators, therapists and families for effective Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems selection and strategies for integration into learner goals.
ECHO Voices sessions will be held the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 8 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Pacific. Advance registration is not required.
Each session begins with a 30 minute topic presentation plus Q&A time, followed by a case study/didactic of an unidentified student. Contact us if you would like to present a case.
